Nursing CV: registration, specialties and care
Nursing CVs are checked for registration and experience in the right settings first. After that, show the specialties, responsibilities and patient outcomes that make you right for the ward or service.

Tracking systems and recruiters scan for the job ad’s own words. Use the exact phrasing from the ad you are applying to; these are common for nurse roles.

Common mistakes
- Omitting registration details, which delays shortlisting
- Listing training without dates
- Describing the ward rather than your role on it
For Irish applications
- State your NMBI registration number, or the stage of your NMBI application if you trained abroad.
- HSE and voluntary hospital applications may use their own forms — keep your CV consistent with what you enter there.
