FAQ

How Robo works

The free scan

What does the free scan check?

It reads the text of your CV and checks five areas: impact (how many experience lines show a result and open with an action verb), structure (experience, education, skills and profile headings), language (passive phrasing, clichés, first-person lines), ATS readability (columns or tables, dates, length) and contact details and Irish conventions (email, phone, LinkedIn, spelling, Leaving Certificate, personal details).

How is the score calculated?

Each area is scored 0–100 from what the scan finds, and the overall score is a weighted average: impact 25%, structure 20%, language 20%, ATS readability 20%, contact and conventions 15%. The result shows the reason for each area's score. It measures how clearly your CV presents you — not whether you will get a particular job.

Does the free scan use AI?

No. It is a set of rules, so the same CV always gets the same score. AI is used only in the paid products, to write rewrites, letters and feedback.

Why did it not find a section I definitely have?

It looks for a heading line — "Work Experience", "Education", "Skills", "Profile". If your heading is unusual, inside an image or a text box, the scan (and many tracking systems) may not recognise it. Use a plain text heading.

Privacy and your data

What happens to my CV when I upload it?

Robo extracts the text and discards the file. The text (up to about 8,000 characters) and your results are stored for up to 30 days — so you can email yourself the report or buy the review — then deleted automatically by a daily clean-up.

Who can see my CV?

Nobody outside Robo's operator, Conjora Limited, except the processors needed to deliver what you ask for: our hosting and database providers and, only for paid products, an AI model provider that processes the text to write your results. We never sell or share your data for marketing.

Do I need an account?

Not for the scan or the review. Packages use your email with a one-time sign-in code — no password is stored.

How do I delete my data sooner?

Use the delete-my-data page or email hello@robo.ie and we will remove it.

Salary data

Where do the salary ranges come from?

Robo editorial estimate, reviewed September 2026. Indicative gross annual base-salary ranges compiled by Robo from publicly advertised Irish roles and recruiter-published salary guides, then reviewed for consistency. They are not survey results and have no sample size.
